Who follows up with me?

A visit is more than a checkout

Telehealth is care by phone, video or an online exchange.

As of September 2026, state rules differed on how a remote assessment could be done.

Choosing treatment using only a medicine menu falls short of expected care, according to the national organisation of state medical boards.

That is board guidance; the binding rules come from the state.

Before the assessment

Ask how to share your health history, medicine list and any records. Ask who will read them and how to raise a question that is not on the form.

A form is not automatically a problem: board guidance allows an online process that can ask follow-up questions and gather enough information.

The guidance does not accept a fixed questionnaire as the sole basis for treatment if it leaves the assessment short of needed information.

Board guidance expects the same level of care in remote and in-person visits.

Ask which tests belong in the plan

The September 2026 tesamorelin label calls for blood sugar checks before treatment and during it.

Tesamorelin raises the level of IGF-1; this substance is found in blood and helps the body’s cells grow.

The label also calls for IGF-1 checks during treatment.

Ask who orders these checks, who reads them and how the results reach you.

Before leaving, pin down the follow-up

  • Who answers questions between visits?
  • When will the plan be reviewed?
  • How will a useful change be measured?
  • If I need an exam in person, how will you arrange it?
  • Who explains the results and any changes to the plan?

For a tesamorelin assessment, board guidance calls for arranging needed tests or referring the patient for an exam with someone able to perform it.

If the answer is still vague, write “unanswered” beside it. Do not fill the gap with a guess.
